About the JDG
The JDG is a forum of the University of Oxford for discussing original work in legal theory as well as moral and political philosophy. Click here for more information on our profile on the Law Faculty's website.
Since its creation in 1997 by Timothy Endicott, the JDG has welcomed renowned scholars from all around the world and has been convened by junior members of the Law Faculty and research students. You can learn more about the origins of the JDG on our History page.
For academic year 2024-2025, we will normally be meeting on Thursdays at 5pm in the Massey Room at Balliol College. However date, time and place may vary, so please do check our term card and mailing lists for more information.
All interested in presenting their legal philosophical research are encouraged to email us abstracts at oxfordjdg@gmail.com.
Additionally, anyone may join our mailing list by sending either an email asking to subscribe at oxfordjdg@gmail.com or a blank email at jurisprudence-discussion-group-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk.
